Pad-Mounted Transformers

ANSI/UL-style single- and three-phase pad-mounted transformers, 37.5–1,500 kVA, 13.8 kV, with loop-feed or radial-feed switching for North and Latin American networks.

5 products

Pad-mounted transformers are the North and Latin American answer to underground distribution: a tamper-resistant, dead-front cabinet sits on a concrete pad, fed by underground cable through loadbreak elbows, with loop-feed or radial-feed switching built in. Millenium builds single-phase units from 37.5 kVA to 167 kVA and three-phase units from 225 kVA to 1,500 kVA at 13.8 kV, 24.9 kV and 34.5 kV, 60 Hz, with 120/240 V, 208Y/120 V, 480Y/277 V or 400/230 V secondaries.

Designs follow IEEE C57.12.00 / C57.12.34 conventions with ANSI BIL levels, 65 °C rise and Munsell green finish; IEC or dual-standard variants and 50 Hz versions are available for other markets.

Pad-Mounted Transformers — frequently asked questions

Are Millenium pad-mounted transformers built for 60 Hz ANSI markets?

Yes. The pad-mounted line is designed around IEEE C57.12 conventions — 13.8 kV, 24.9 kV and 34.5 kV primaries, ANSI BIL, 65 °C rise and dead-front loop-feed or radial-feed cabinets — for the USA, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, the Philippines and other 60 Hz networks.

What is loop-feed switching?

A loop-feed cabinet has two sets of primary bushings so the transformer can be fed from either direction of a distribution loop and isolated without interrupting the rest of the loop; radial-feed units have a single incoming set.

Can the secondary voltage be changed?

Yes. Common options are 120/240 V single-phase and 208Y/120 V, 480Y/277 V or 400/230 V three-phase; other ratios are quoted on request.
