Cast-resin dry-type transformers have no oil to leak or burn, which is why building codes put them inside hospitals, data centres, high-rise buildings, tunnels, ships and mines. Millenium vacuum-casts the epoxy coils on site, giving Class F or Class H insulation, partial-discharge-tested windings and a compact footprint that can be installed next to the load.

Ratings run from 100 kVA to 2,500 kVA at 6.3, 10, 11, 13.8, 15, 20 and 22 kV, with IP00 open frames or IP20–IP54 enclosures, forced-air (AF) cooling for 140–150 % overload and temperature-controller options.

Dry-Type Transformers — frequently asked questions

When should I choose a dry-type transformer over an oil-immersed one?

Choose dry-type whenever the transformer sits indoors, near people or in a fire-sensitive building — it removes the oil fire risk, needs no bund or drainage and has minimal maintenance. Choose oil-immersed for outdoor substations where lower losses and cost per kVA matter more.

What insulation class and temperature rise do Millenium dry-type units use?

Class F (155 °C) as standard with a 100 K temperature rise, or Class H (180 °C) on request; the epoxy cast-resin coils are partial-discharge tested to IEC 60076-11.

Can the transformer be supplied with an enclosure and forced cooling?

Yes. IP20 to IP54 enclosures, cross-flow fans for AF overload capacity and a winding temperature controller with alarm and trip contacts are all available.
